Fabric Options & Light Control

Choose from our curated collection of 10 distinct fabric styles, each engineered for a specific light-control need. Light-filtering fabrics gently diffuse sunlight, reducing glare while maintaining daytime privacy—ideal for living rooms and kitchens. Room-darkening weaves block most light and offer enhanced privacy, perfect for media rooms or home offices. Blackout fabrics provide complete darkness and insulation, making them the top choice for bedrooms and nurseries.
Every fabric in our lineup is treated for UV resistance, ensuring vibrant color and structural integrity even in south-facing windows. You’ll also find a range of textures—from smooth neutrals to subtle basketweaves—so your shades complement any interior style. Visit our fabric swatch page to order free samples before you commit.
Custom Sizing & Measurement

Because every window is unique, we manufacture each roller shade to your precise specifications. Measure your window width and drop to the nearest 1/8 inch—our online configurator will guide you through inside-mount and outside-mount options and calculate the exact shade dimensions you need.
Inside-mount shades fit within the window frame for a streamlined look, while outside-mount shades cover the entire frame and extend beyond the edges for maximum light blockage. We recommend adding at least 2 inches to each side for outside mounts to eliminate light gaps. If you’re unsure, our step-by-step measuring guide includes video tutorials and printable worksheets to ensure accuracy.
Installation & Hardware

Installing your Lazblinds roller shade takes about 15 minutes per window with basic tools—a drill, level, and pencil. Every shade includes color-matched metal mounting brackets designed for inside or outside installation, plus screws and anchors for drywall, wood, and tile.
For chain-loop models, you’ll mount the brackets at the top corners of your window or frame, slide the roller tube into place, and secure the chain tensioner to keep cords taut and safe. Cordless spring-assist shades require the same bracket setup; simply pull down to lower and give a gentle tug to raise. Motorized shades come pre-programmed and pair with the included remote in seconds.

Your Roller Shade Questions Answered
For an inside mount, measure the exact width and height of the window opening at three points—top, middle, and bottom—and use the smallest measurement to ensure the shade fits within the frame. For an outside mount, measure the area you want to cover and add at least 2 inches on each side to block light gaps.
Our online configurator will automatically adjust fabric dimensions and provide the final shade size based on your mount choice. If you need visual guidance, check our measuring guide for step-by-step videos.
Light-filtering fabrics allow diffused natural light to pass through while providing daytime privacy—you’ll see soft illumination and shadows but no clear view from outside. Room-darkening fabrics block most light and offer enhanced privacy, though a small amount of ambient glow may seep around the edges. Blackout fabrics eliminate virtually all light and provide complete privacy, ideal for bedrooms or media rooms.
Each fabric type is available in multiple colors and textures, so you can match your décor while achieving your desired light control.
Yes, both cordless spring-assist and motorized lift systems eliminate dangling cords, making them the safest options for homes with young children or pets. Cordless shades use a simple pull-down, tug-up mechanism, while motorized shades operate via remote or app with no manual cords at all.
Both systems meet or exceed Window Covering Manufacturers Association safety standards. If you choose a chain-loop model, we include a tensioner to secure the cord out of reach.
Most customers install roller shades themselves in about 15 minutes per window using a drill, level, and the included hardware. Our shades come with pre-mounted brackets, screws, anchors, and detailed instructions for both inside and outside mounts.
If you’re uncomfortable with DIY projects, a local handyman or window-treatment installer can handle the job quickly. Our installation video library walks you through every step for chain-loop, cordless, and motorized systems.
Dust your shades weekly with a microfiber cloth or vacuum brush attachment on low suction. For spot cleaning, use a damp sponge with mild detergent on light-filtering and room-darkening fabrics—avoid soaking or machine washing. Blackout fabrics with PVC backing should only be wiped down with a damp cloth and air-dried.
Lubricate the chain mechanism once a year with silicone spray to keep operation smooth. With routine care, your roller shades will stay fresh and functional for 10 years or more.
